Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a skin condition that is characterized by white patches of skin on several parts of the body. The condition is caused due to the destruction of melanocytes which are the cells that are responsible for skin pigmentation. It may also be due to autoimmune thyroid disease. The condition may be mild with one or two spots or maybe severe with depigmentation in larger areas of skin. The various treatment options include Phototherapy- ultraviolet A (UVA) or UVB light, Laser Therapy, and Surgery- Skin grafts. Steroid creams can also be used on the skin to restore some pigment, however, long-term use can cause stretch marks and thinness of the skin.

Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD)

* Human papillomavirus (HPV): An infection that causes warts in various parts of the body, depending on the strain.
* Genital herpes: Caused by the herpes simplex virus, the disease can affect both men and women.
Pain, itching and small sores appear first. They form ulcers and scabs. After initial infection, genital herpes lies dormant in the body. Symptoms can recur for years. Medication can be used to manage outbreaks.

* HIV/AIDS: The virus can be transmitted through contact with infected blood, semen or vaginal fluids. Within a few weeks of HIV infection, flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat and fatigue can occur. Then the disease is usually asymptomatic until it progresses to AIDS. AIDS symptoms include weight loss, fever or night sweats, fatigue and recurrent infections.

Acne (Pimples) Treatment

Normally, dead cells collect in the skin’s pores, then slowly rise to the surface of the openings and eventually fall away from the skin. A natural body oil called sebum helps to prevent skin cells from drying out. The glands that produce this oil are attached to the pores. When excess sebum builds up, it can cause dead cells to stick together, forming a mixture that becomes trapped in the pores. Acne occurs when a pore becomes clogged with dead skin cells, natural body oils, and a type of bacteria. These bacteria live on the skin and are called Propionibacterium acnes. If they enter and infect clogged pores, this causes acne blemishes to form.".

Wrinkles / Anti aging

Wrinkles, a natural part of aging, are most prominent on sun-exposed skin, such as the face, neck, hands and forearms.

Although genetics mainly determine skin structure and texture, sun exposure is a major cause of wrinkles, especially for fair-skinned people. Other factors, such as pollutants and smoking, also contribute to wrinkling.

If your wrinkles bother you, you have more options than ever to help smooth them or make them less visible.
